NaNoWriMo 2013

It is THAT time again!!  It’s officially November, which means it’s NaNoWriMo time!

Once again, I accept the challenge of writing a 50K work novel in 30 days.  True, I’ve not been able to complete this goal the last 4 years, but I have a feeling 2012 is my year!  Yeah, year 5 will be the year I “win” NaNo!

As always, we shall see. 🙂

To all my writer peeps, hope you take up the challenge as well.  Technically, you’re supposed to work on a new idea during NaNo, but I say make this collective opportunity work for you.  Hundreds of thousands of writers across the world will come together over the course of the next 30 days all in an attempt to pound out 50K words of supreme, creative effort.  Ok , that may be the longest run on sentence ever on my blog-lol.

But really, there is something motivating about being a part of this synerginestic effort. (yes, I made that word up)  All of us are busy and committing yourself to writing 1,666 words a day for a month is a bit daunting.  Say you don’t do the 50k, you’ll still end the month with 30K, 20K, or maybe even 3K words more that you had at the beginning.  You could use the month to just rededicate yourself to writing by working on a shelved wip. You could use the month to further your existing writing goals by editing or revising a current wip.  OR you could use the month to simply brainstorm your 2013 writing projects.

Ok, enough chitter chatter from me, I have a story to write. 🙂
